'turn out like your sister'
statement
I curated this solo exhibition to show my work as a senior in the Studio Art BA degree at Wofford College. This show is a self portrait through the eyes of my mother, impressed onto the being and becoming of my sister. We are both queer and raised in the Bible Belt. Childhood memories, past versions of ourselves, and 'mere difference of opinions' are the beginning of her and I.

- 'zip tie' (endurance performance video)
- 'unconditional love' (video projected onto armoire dropped in fabric dipped in resin)
- 'disappointment' (cast of a folding chair with belt and additional paper)
- 'protector' (melted pvc plastic cast of chair & trinket dish filled with butterscotch, strawberry candy, and Marlboro gold cig butts)
- 'toe tag' (panty hose filled with leftover silicone, tattooed with red ink, and toe tag attached)
- 'during and after' - (cyanotype mural and print of binding during 'zip tie' and aftermath of zip ties cut off)
